One of the cool things about Florence is that the entire town is literally a museum. In the town center is Loggia dei Lanzi –where they would hold public ceremonies. It’s also an open-air gallery featuring of some of the most amazing sculptures of the Renaissance period. The sculpture in my photo is by an artist name Giambologna. He was a student of my main dude, Michelangelo. The cool thing about this sculpture is Giambologna was able to sculpt intertwining figures – a feat that not even his mentor, Michelangelo, was able to solve. I’m not one to take photos of sculptures – but this one really impressed me and I wanted to bring out every detail that I could. Here’s how my camera saw the sculpture and then how I saw the sculpture. I wanted to bring out the detail to show you how amazing this work is.
